Hi, my name is Judy Sisco Peaks. I was born, raised, educated and still live in Rockland County. I was with the class of 1957. I graduated from RCC and STAC colleges’ with a degree in Computer Science, during the 1980’s. I enrolled in RCC when I was 40 years old. My formal education took 8 years of night school. I have enjoyed a long career in the Computer Systems Design business world. I am currently a retired Project Manager of financial Systems from the corporate world of United Parcel Service (UPS) but not retired from the interesting world of our children.

I have been passionately involved in the world of community service since the middle sixties. I helped organize a startup nursery school program for low-income families. I remained active in all aspects of program development for that initiative for approximately ten years. This school is currently operating in the Piermont School Building.

In the seventies, I joined and became an officer of the Rockland Community Action Council, (ROCAC) which oversaw grant-making activity to initiatives serving underprivileged children in Rockland. I have been a long time member of and in the past, served on the newsletter project of the Nyack NAACP. Currently I am computerizing member’s names and addresses for the membership committee of the Nyack NAACP.

Tennis has been a long time passion and upon retirement, I became a certified instructor and now serve as Rockland’s representative to the U.S.T.A., Eastern Section. I also play rated competitive tennis with the USTA League Tennis program. I am currently the Spring Valley High School boys JV tennis coach and continue to serve tennis programs in clubs, camps, after school programs and next month will be running a free tennis program out of the Palisades Mall for children not able to pay the high cost of tennis in the clubs. This program runs every Saturday for two hours for 28 weeks. These children would not otherwise have the opportunity to play tennis. The program is called “STAR Kids”, is incorporated and has a non-profit status. I am the VP of Public Relations on the Star Kids board.

I am the Proprietor of Calabria Pizza & Pasta II store in West Haverstraw. I am a widow and mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren and one Great Grandchild expected April 2005.
