Obituary

William A. Kopac, a 38-year resident of Blauvelt, NY died Monday, October 28,2002 at Nyack Hospital. He was 65. Mr. Kopac worked as a quality inspector for Arde Inc., in Norwood, NJ. He was with the company for 26 years before retiring in 1998.

Mr. Kopac was born January 22, 1937 in Piermont, NY to Peter and Josephine Kopac. He grew up in Sparkill, NY and graduated from Tappan High School. Mr. Kopac was in the United States Army from 1958-1960. On June 30,1962, he married Janet Chaize at St. Catharine's RC Church, Blauvelt, NY.

Locally, he was a coach for the Blauvelt Little League and Babe Ruth League. He was an usher for St. Catharine's and an ex-Chief for the Sparkill Fire Department from 1961-1962.

He is survived by his wife Janet, of Blauvelt; sons: William, Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Blauvelt and Brian, of Blauvelt; beloved grandchildren: Tyler and Emily of Blauvelt; sisters Pauline Dizzine of Blauvelt, Anne Ventriglia of FL and, Florence D'Auria of Sparkill, NY; brothers: John, of Sparkill, Joseph, of Blauvelt, George, of Sparkill and Stephen of FL; and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers: Peter, Jr. and Thomas; and sister, Jean Culletto.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, at St. Catharine's RC Church, Blauvelt. Burial will follow at St. Catharine's Cemetery.
