Joseph M. Rechtorovic formerly of Nyack, NY passed away on January 7, 2008 in Brooksville, FL. He was 74 years old.
Joe was born in Piermont, NY on June 4, 1933 to Joseph and Mary Rechtorovic. He served his country in the armed forces during the Korean Conflict. Joe was employed by the Village of Nyack Police Department from which he retired as a sergeant in 1988. He resided in Nyack for 28 years before relocating to Spring Hill, FL after his retirement.
Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years Marjorie Rechtorovic, a daughter JoAnn Houk, a son Mark Rechtorovic, and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mary Ann Pulliza, and three brothers, Frank, Matt and Ed Rechtorovic.
Visiting is scheduled for Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Hannemann Funeral Home, Inc. in Nyack. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday at 10 AM at St. John the Baptist RC Church in Piermont with burial to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY.
