Mrs. Mary Mayer, of Tappan, NY, passed away peacefully at home on September 15, 2004. She was born in Hudson, NY to Ferdnand and Mary Garrity Wolf. Mrs. Mayer graduated Tappan Zee High School in Piermont, NY in 1944 and went on to graduate from the Englewood Hospital Nursing School in Englewood in NJ. Prior to retiring, she was a registered nurse at the Palisades Garden in Palisades, NY. Mrs. Mayer was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church in Piermont and was a member of the Catholic Daughter of America. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth R., who died in 2003. Mary is survived by her daughters: Mary Hoffman and her husband, Thomas and Heidi Conroy and her husband, Kevin; and her grandchildren: Sean Hoffman and his wife, Cara and Meghan Hoffman, Kyle, Kimberly and Kristopher Conroy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 10 am, at St. John the Baptist Church in Piermont, NY, with Burial to follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY.
